Like humanity’s question of eons of years, which come first, the egg or the chicken, art has lots in common. Does art come before those who can appreciate it or art exist because of human acknowledgment? It’s not hard to give a silly answer but it’s agonizing to try giving the dilemma a solid response. Try not to think of it now. The reason is, let’s discuss about art & life first to understand what’s this all about.
In my thinking, art ignites from humble individualistic desires, to simply explore the world outside, to solely escape from harsh reality, to project one’s self into their realm where thoughts are unjudged, motives remains diverse and most important, offer an unimaginable level of tremendous liberty. Art serves as a vehicle to pushing one into the vast unknown of human consciousness, encourage them to explore and discover the new, own perspective about their topic of interest, therefore helping the artist to express their creativity.
For all these reasons, ones who has none of the artistic preference will fear the unknown, fear to evolve their spirit, and trapped in the social norm; through the sand of time, they’ll be buried and forgotten.
A specific piece of art that speaks to you, can open your eyes to the domain of transcendent, it serves as a window to the transcendent, tranquility, an escape route for the finite and limited soul that’s shrouded by the ignorance and the unenlightenment. And the beautiful language that art speaks can only be comprehended by one’s soul, it gives one the power to lift these chains of the curse that mother nature put on humanity. To see art this way make tremendous sense to art alternatives you appreciate every day; for example, the music you listen to is actually teleported you to the world of yourself, you are now having a religiously transcending experience, or you can tell me that I’m doomed and go back to your cocoon.
To me, when something blocks my thinking; slows me down or discourages me. This painting is my kind of holy experience, it elevates me and makes me think positively.
